Based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's novella, this play follows Commissaire Matthäi, a detective who becomes obsessed with solving a murder case he believes was wrongly closed. What begins as a quest for justice transforms into a dangerous psychological game when Matthäi hatches a risky plan to catch the real killer. Winterthur's Theatre stages Dürrenmatt's darkly ironic masterpiece, which questions the price of human determination and the blurred line between conviction and delusion.
