Based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's novel. When a girl's body is found in a forest near Mägendorf, police inspector Matthäi promises her mother he will catch the killer – a vow that consumes him. Though an initial suspect confesses and the case seems closed, Matthäi becomes convinced he is hunting a serial murderer. He devises a dubious plan: assuming the role of petrol station owner, he sets a trap for the unknown killer. Co-production with Theatre Winterthur.
