The Zurich Chamber Orchestra centres on Erich Kästner in this concert combining stories and sound. Actor Thomas Douglas narrates the writer's life, his children's books and satirical social commentary, whilst the orchestra performs complementary works. The programme reflects the cultural diversity of Weimar-era Berlin, from jazz to chansons to Neue Sachlichkeit. A dialogue between literature and music.
