About

Automatically translated from German

Dr. Ingrid Bodsch introduces the world of composer Delphine von Schauroth (1813–1887), a virtuoso pianist who was active alongside Clara Schumann, Franz Liszt and Felix Mendelssohn. Despite her impressive career spanning fifty years, only her 'Songs without Words' were published during her lifetime, which Robert Schumann enthusiastically praised. The introduction combines historical knowledge with anecdotes about this talented composer and contemporary of Frédéric Chopin.
