About

Singfrauen Winterthur presents songs by and for women from countries including Finland, Georgia, Italy, Mexico and South Africa, celebrating female voices and self-determination. The evening features the world premiere of Jean-François Michel's choral suite «Die Zürcher Petitionärinnen 1868», which sheds light on a little-known aspect of Zurich's history: in 1868, women petitioned the government demanding fair inheritance rights, better education access and political representation.
