This film programme presents short and feature films about spiritual national defence, a defining Swiss cultural movement of the 20th century. The works demonstrate how cinema reinforced national historical narratives, emphasised humanitarian traditions and warned against authoritarian rule. The screenings feature documentary and animated films from the 1940s as well as a longer documentary from 1947.
