Toxidi brings Rembetiko to the stage, a musical form rooted in the displacement and subculture of Asia Minor. As non-Greek performers, they continue the tradition of Rembetiko as hybrid music that blends East and West, folk and urban culture. The programme features classic Rembetiko songs and works by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. An evening celebrating music as a fusion and recreation of traditions.
