The film follows two women in Khongthong village in the Khasi Hills, India, where names are sung or whistled and passed down by mothers to newborns. This screening is part of the museum's "Names in Motion" film series, which explores how names are contested, erased and reimagined in conjunction with the exhibition "Renaming – People, Things, Places". The 52-minute documentary is in Khasi and English with English subtitles, and includes a discussion with the filmmaker.
